Also, corvette and camaro are chev and share from the same parts bin usually. Why would corvette share with Pontiac? Remember... Corvette has alot of ruling power at GM.
Remember the FIERO program? They were out-performing the vettes and corvette made sure the fiero program died. That was the start of the Pontiac ousting in IMO.

The overcladded body panels and the fact that they were nothing more than rebadged Chevrolets are just two among the many reasons why Pontiac is no more.
No more room for rebadging at GM. Hell, even the next-gen full size trucks/SUVs aren't supposed to look like each other.
And I do remember the Fiero program...and how a ton of them lived up to their names...
