I was picked on and bullied growing up; pretty much my entire life. I was a nerd, loved video games, computers, talked about/watched anime and never played sports past Jr. High(Middle School). I just grew a thick skin...I didn't have parents that supported me when I got home, I was moved out at 16 and had a job since I was 15. I think people are just becoming "super sensitive" to what others think and the way others percieve them. I do believe that kids should be more respectful, but it isn't something you should expect. Kids should have the understanding that you will be picked on or made fun of at some point in your life. It surprises me to this day when I get on a video game and hear how offended a person is getting playing on the internet...people shouldn't have to expect that there will always be mean/abusive people(kids and adults) every where but it is just the way things are and there is no way to make it stop. "Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is what my grandmother taught me as a child, it isn't completely true, but death should never be the option from the words of another.
