Here is the difference between the D3 and the japanese automakers. Detroit builds Fuel cell vehicles and calls them prototypes, because that is what they are to the engineers. then they give those vehicles to the public to test in real world conditions. Honda on the other hand builds fuel cell vehicles and sells them at a large markup to the public calling it a production model, but then follows the cars around with a pen and paper doing all kinds of real world test conditions. really its the same thing except for the marketing aspect and that people are paying to be an experiment. Now, this sounds somewhat familiar. Toyota is putting together a few plug in "production" prototypes, and selling them on market so they can follow those buyers around with a pen and paper. I'm not really a fan of paying to play lab mouse. i really favor GMs stratagy and they will be the first real "production plug-ins". congrats.
