Basically the heritage argument seems to be: The C6R has won ALMS competitions, ergo, the ZR1 is faster than the GT-R. That makes no sense. The Z06 is actually the closer car in price and that argument is empirically false. The ZR1 is the one being compared here and the GT-R and ZR1 are hair splitting close.

FYI- GM's warranty on the Vette is specifically voided if you race it, so that argument is not valid. In fact, I wasn't even looking specifically for examples, but there are quite a few examples of Corvette's requiring 14000-20000k in repairs due to racing. It's all anecdotal and crap happens when you're trashing cars, so the tranny is a straw man argument. Road track racing isn't where the tranny grenaded either- it grenaded in drag racing but your comparing road racing pedigrees. Plus it's supposedly been fixed.

So the only thing I get out of this thread is that: the GT-R is ugly (which I buy), or that everything Japanese sucks-no matter how good it is- it still sucks, cuz it ain't 'Merican.
