Wow, Porsche and Ferrari have fallen far and fast stylistically. The 599GTO is better than most recent Ferrari offerings, but to be blunt that isn't saying much and compared to something as simple as a 456GT it is downright homely. A comparison to some of the better classic like a 365GTB/4 or even the newer F355 moves the meter clear on over to embarrassing. Enzo would have never signed off on the abominations Ferrari churns out now.
Porsche isn't quite as bad off, the 997 makes up for some of the sins of the earlier 996 for example, but it does so by aping a lot of the features of the the last of the air cooled 911's, the 993 (one is pictured above), and compared to that car the 997 still looks pretty shabby.
