I, a new camaro owner bought a camaro instead of mustang simply because I believe the build quality id superior, and I like the styling more. Whats with all this stang hatin' though. There both american cars at least. Should'nt camaro and stang owners be bashing on imports as a united front? For all the MY CAMARO CAN BLOW A STANG OFF THE ROAD hater crowd, get a life. My last car wast a gt500, when it was still stock, Me and one of my friends threw a video on youtube of me racing him in his 5th gen camaro, just for shits and giggles. I won the race.... IMO, chevy builds better vehicles, and ford builds better engines, but how fast do you really need to go? Before a hater says ford motors are crap that dont make any power and have to have a blower to keep up with a chevy... HERE ARE THE FACTS...
Modular Motor>Pushrod.... Ford engines have typically been built with higher quality parts. For example, a 4.6L 3V mustang engine has the bolt on ability to produce as much power, bolt on to bolt on as a 5.7L ls6. Due to low compression, and a strong rotaing assymbly. A blown stock bottom 4.6L 3v can make the same power, maybe more than a blown stock bottom Ls6. LS6 can only handle 7-10psi max.
We all know how much power a 4.6 4v DOHC cobra engine can make. At 281ci this motor was the craziest thing to hit the car market since the 426hemi.
The holy grail ford motor, the 5.4L 4v DOHC GT500/GT powerplant is quite simply----THE MOST CAPABLE MASS PRODUCED ENGINE TO EVER HIT THE MARKET. THIS ENGINE, UNTOUCHED---CAN MAKE 1000+RWHP ON RACE GAS AND STAY TOGETHER, JUST ADD MASSIVE BOOST.
