My wife worked as a teller at a bank that was located in the same building as the grocery store I worked part time in. I was working my way through college. She looked hot and I needed a good pick-up line to get that first date. The two dollar bill was just being released so I took a $10 bill out, waited to get in her line, and promptly told her I need six $2 bills for this. She asked me if I knew what "fat chance" meant. I knew this was not going to be easy. I followed up with "If you let me take you out for dinner I will spend this whole $10 on you."
(shades of Homer Simpson) As you can tell I am more of a geek than a pick up artist. She must have felt sorry for me and said "wait one minute while I check something." Fortunately I had a lot more money in my account than I did in my hand. She stated, " You have just enough here to take me on one date." What can I say - While there is a whole lot more to this story I did manage to land her, and she is the best catch in the world. We have been married 30 years this year, have three great sons and our first grandbaby just arrived 4 months ago. I wouldn't believe back then that I could love her a hundred times more at 30 years but I do. Life is good!
