Fran and I met at the University of Scranton PA - she was a Junior and a "Townie" (lived in Dunmore PA) , me a Sophomore and a "Dormie" (from Somers, NY) (yes, she robbed the cradle and I needed a more mature woman to tame me - HA).

We worked on the Yearbook together, she was the Editor, I was the Photographic Editor - so lots of tension on deadlines & we didn't really like each other that first year and didn't date. When we got back for our Senior/Junior years I asked her if she was dating anyone while sitting on the Student Center steps - as fate would have she said no and I asked her out. That first date I took her to a nice dinner and then dancing to a show-band where we shared our first kiss. Although I had a reputation (not well deserved) as a campus stud (yes me, at my dorm the year before we had a spoof of the NCAA Basketball Rankings called the AP Stud Poll which ranked the guys in the dorm by their dates and alleged conquests - I finished 2nd though not with Fran as a "conquest" - but I digress) I took her back to her home like a gentleman.

We dated through her Senior year ('79) and mine the following ('80), when I graduated I'd drive from Somers NY to Dunmore PA almost every weekend for three years as we started our careers - her in teaching back then, me in business - to build some equity toward our planned life together and complete our Master's degrees (MS in Secondary Ed/Business for Fran at Scranton, MBA Finance/Marketing for me at Fordham). We married in '83 and celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2008 in Italy and 27th this past July.

She is my soulmate and love of my life - though we weren't blessed with children (we've spoiled our Gold-Capped Conure Parrot KiKi for over 18 years - he wants a Z28 when available now that he's old enough to drive though his claws can't reach the pedals, so he'll have to settle for those parrot-sized roller skates) we've shared a great life so far and looking forward to spending more time together as our careers wind down. That she supports my Camaro passion and goes to local car shows/meet & greets and road-trips like the Buyers & Builders Oshawa Meet & Greet back in August is a bonus - pic is us at Niagara Falls after Oshawa event. I enjoy her passion for gardening helping where I can and we both love to travel and cruise (on ships, as well as in the Camaro and her G6 Hard Top Convertible).

Great thread Scott - thanks for starting - its nice to see how so many of our camaro5 friends met.
