Here's a well done video that just goes to show how well the SHO does against some of its more expensive competition, maybe there waiting for the rumored 400hp+ version. The Ring may also be too bumpy for the sra in the mustang.

Focus RS? Sure they could. But who likes to brag about FWD performance?
I thought about the SHO, but from what I've heard, its performance is nothing to write home about. Roughly in line with a G8 GT or Charger R/T. Good, but not great. And not enough to fly cars and a team over to German, since Fords competitors could have easily send their own range topping models (that were priced comparably to the SHO) to beat it without much effort.
And that race was done explicitly to showcase the advantage of the ecoboost engine. It was about as fair as the Mini vs Porsche from a few months ago. Due to altitude, the naturally aspirated cars were getting about 2/3 the air they would normally get at sea level (and consequently, making dramatically less power) while the turbocharged Lincoln would have suffered minimal power loss. Try the same thing at the Nurburgring (1000-2000 feet above sea level) and those cars probably would have destroyed it.
