Law is law. You can NOT argue with the police. You argue with THE JUDGE. Police do their jobs and if they make the wrong decision, the Judge sees the problems and corrects it. Usually, the officers Sergeant sees the problem first and corrects it with the officer.
Officers aren't perfect. We make mistakes too. If the tint on the sides were limo, it's a ticket....plain and simple. A "doctors note" does not mean that he MUST let you go. He can still issue the citation and then you can take the note to court where a Judge will accept or deny the doctors note. ....at least, this is my experience....but... Personally, I would not give the person a citation if they showed a note...but anyone could just make one up. I know....I could call...
The fact remains that if he scratched your tint, you should complain to Internal Affairs. He DAMAGED YOUR property. He has NO RIGHT to do that....NONE. That should get him "days."
And...if you roll down your illegally tinted front windows, the officer would not have been able to see them.

I usually do but its so cold lately (down to -26c) that its impossible to drive with the window down and if you do, you look more suspicious lol.
What did you mean by your comment "That should get him days?"
PS my car looks like a tard with a hole in the tint. I'll post pics if anyones interested but I guess this forces me to take it all off asap and hence thats prolly why he did it. He said he wanted it for evidence! :(
He put the fear into me cos he talked about impounding the vehicle, so I was like on eggshells. So I had to comply incase he flipped and wanted to impound it. can he do that. What come back would you say to prevent a cop wanting to impound your vehicle? PM me if you wanna be private about it.
Many thanks.
