I'm real close to the ocean...I live about a half-mile from the bay, which feeds into the Atlantic Ocean...
Grew up around the water my whole life...my Dad always owned a boat and took us fishing...
I haven't been on a boat or gone fishing since he's gone...too hard for me...
I am on the South Shore of Long Island, where the ocean is...the Hamptons are on the South Shore, east of where I live...
Then there is the North Shore, where the Long Island Sound is...
I have water all around me...love the water, love the beach...
Because I am on the South Shore, it is cooler in the summer than on the North Shore, because the wind passes over the cold waters of the Atlantic...
Then, in the winter, it is a bit warmer here than on the North Shore...
My Dad always said that the South Shore of LI is the best of both worlds...
