If the report is true, expect a much smaller Chrysler brand lineup than the one we have today today. A redesigned Chrysler Town & Country minivan and 300C – a grand total of three models for Chrysler. That’s a pretty bold move, especially considering the fact that there has been previous reports about the next-generation Sebring platform being developed for use by other Fiat brands.
Dodge sees the Caliber, Nitro, Avenger and Dodge Grand Caravan cut, with the Charger, Challenger, Journey and Ram trucks remaining. In other words, the good products. Fiat isn’t messing around! Jeep gets pared down to only two models – Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.
It sounds as if Fiat really plans for Alfa Romeo to be the centerpiece of it’s U.S efforts. The Wall Street Journal reports that, contrary to what has been heard recently, both the MiTo hatchback and Milano (147 replacement) are coming to the U.S, along with an “unnamed mid-size sedan.” It’s unclear if this is the whole story on what to expect – regardless, we should be hearing official word about the future of these brands soon.
