Yeah, it's not exactly a rocket. I have a 5.3L in my Silverado. I was originally going to get the 6.2L, but had such a hard time finding one that wasn't decked out in LTZ trim with all the whiz-bang options that I gave up. I got a good price on my truck and with my (then decent) Employee discount, I couldn't pass it up. I still have my regrets sometimes but I don't sweat it too much. My truck has done everything I've ever needed it to do.
I didn't buy it to tow a house or to drag race, so it's worked for me thus far.
