I am simply saying with these two cars specifically, I expect the Vette to be faster, better. Because you are paying for it.
Also,, food for thought, look at the trap speeds. That is a good indication of who has more room for improvement on ET in the 1/4 mile.
Both are great cars. If the Vette would get a facelift, and an interior change, i would be more inclined to want one, but as of right now, the GT500 has more of my attention. Both are out of my price range at the moment. Maybe in about 5 years, when I get rid of some debt and save up some money. I might be looking more at these cars.

This thread is so long because everyone expects a runaway victory by the more pricey 2-seater. The GT500 has matched or surpassed the vette's performance while retaining it's advantage over the vette in everyday liveability. Trap speeds indicate the Shelby has more power (i.e. leaves the vette for dead from a roll). My advice to vette shoppers, either buy the Z06 or wait for the C7, the C6 has become an easy target........
