The exact same thing happened with the 2005 Mustang, the MINI, and even the Chrysler 300 for that matter. No car can stay the 'new car to have' forever, and when that effect wears off the folks who bought one simply because it was cool will move on to the new cool car or a more expensive/prestigious cool car. It's how the car does after that 'it factor' wears off that really matters.
