Yea...that kind of threw me off a little bit. But I think of it this way: it was determined by what was done in the previous dream level. So, in dream level 1 they were actually "pulled" by gravity (van), but in dream level 2, they weren't really "pulled" by anything (
). Please excuse my feable explanation
