I'd say it's plenty okay to get excited over any car.

Heck, I was excited when I got my Cobalt. Granted...that was moving up from a crappy old minivan...but still!!

Given that this is a sub-6 second 0-60 car...quarter in the low 14s to high 13s (a total guess)...this isn't a slouch by any means. It has the same suspension-tuning level as the G8 GT for goodness sakes, and it's one hot ride no matter what the powertrain. What's not to get excited about?

It's the old stigma attached to the V8, I think...any less cylinders has to be inferior. That's just not the case anymore.

In my case, I have two choices; get a 1SS, or a 2LT. If I get the SS, I'm going to be stretching it. $3 grand more right off the bat, mileage isn't great (for a V8 it is...but c'mon, 23mpg??), and insurance for me is roughly double that over the V6. I can't handle that comfortably, and 2 extra cylinders isn't important enough to break myself over it. So, I'm getting a 2LT. Should I not be excited at getting IRS, a 6-speed, 300+hp, and all the goodies the car has to offer?

Plus...I have a plan in mind that'll turn my "lil old V6" into a monster of a performance car. More on that in a few years.......
