it is my understanding that some C5 member use their rims to feel for the curb... the sound of concrete scraping on metal tells them that they're too close, then they post threads on here asking if anyone is selling their wheels.
some C5'ers just go this route:
i would at least put some flint or magnesium tips on my feelers, so it'd make bad-ass colored sparks when i scrape
