No, what you need to understand is how the industry measures and records curb weight. Curb weight is the weight of a
fully optioned vehicle with a
full tank of fuel. As I said earlier, I have no doubts there are GT500's out there that weigh 3900+ pounds. Do the math. Let's say a GT500 with he same options as mine, in stock form, weighs 3840 lbs. Add the 80 or so pounds to that for the Shaker 1000 stereo and, viola, you get a GT500 that weighs 3920. If I recall, that is the official curb weight reported by Ford and verified by other non-Ford organizations.
I'm just saying that not all GT500 issues are of equal weight. What's funny is that you see people, usually the ones who want to bash the car in some way, posting up weights on the GT500 like "4000lbs" or "4100lbs", which is just disingenuous and unfactual.
