the 1998 ss can smoke the mustang, its almost 11 years old
Ford can bearly upgrade there old ass 4.6 to a 5.0 actually they haven't yet.
new mustang is coming out with SUPPOSABLY 315hp thats a good laugh the camaro ss will be 13 years old and still smoke it.

Before you get roush, shelby and all them involved i suggest ford fires rubbermaid for the mustang interior material.
It'll be a cold day in hell before you can do an LS7 swap for the same price as a Roush or a Saleen (both of which are overpriced). The LS7 crate alone would run you close to 15k, and then you'd have to gut pretty much everything else under the hood to deal with that kind of power. With the kind of money you'd have spent when all was said and done, it would have been better to have bought a used Z06.

As for the comparisons, it depends on which mustang you're talking about. Something else to be considered is that when you think about it, times are going to be similar across the board as they were last generation. Although power has gone up in all cars, so has the weight. Yes, a 4th gen Camaro SS will probably smoke a 2010 Mustang GT (which is an unfair comparison since the SS was the top dog and the GT wasn't), but it will probably also give the 2010 SS a run for its money as well. Also, I could just as easily make the point that a 2003 SVT Cobra is probably quicker than the upcoming SS (SVT has slightly less hp and torque, but is 300-lbs. lighter). So really bench racing here is useless, since they're all about the same speed when compared across the board.

As for the interior, the 2010 Mustang has a very elegant look to it; the 2010 Camaro has a more retro look, and both are pretty awesome if you ask me. And no offense, but we all know the 4th gen Camaro/Firebird had one of the most ugly-assed plastic interiors ever seen by mankind, so by having one you kinda forfeit the right to complain about Ford's plastic.
