stupid mustangs with their good looks and not so great stock performance numbers
The new Mustang will probably run much better with the optional 3.73 gear. It might even give the Camaro a little bit of a run for its money up till about 55 mph when the torque of the LS3 starts really kicking in. But theres no comparison in bang for the buck. Have you seen Ford bragging about how good the Mustang ran at Nuremburg? Heck no....not even with the GT500 after they wasted their advertising budget on the first 3 pages of the Mustang brochure for a car the dealer would'nt even sell you (they told me to go to EBay to bid the ones they had in stock....you KNOW what I told them). Buyers paid $20,000 over MSRP for a GT500 and now they are crying in their soup because the car has no resale value. They can't even sell brand new ones for MSRP (check the reruns on EBay week after week).

I believe that the Camaro has a lot to do with the sales of the GT500 crashing. The rediculous price of the car over the Camaro is an insult to a buyer and has no basis. The lack of resale value combined with the over MSRP price the dealers had previously charged has given it a reputation as a vehicle to avoid. A Vette is a much better investment and a better car with more options anyway and always was.

If the Camaro were not going to exist I'd be at my local Ford dealer right now buying one of the new 2007 Mustang GT convertibles he has on his lot for $23,800 (yup...he has 7 of them...what does that tell you about Mustang sales?). But I'll wait for the Camaro despite whatever delays come up.
