'generally poor car sales' was the catch-all term that I used. Credit is the main underlying fact there though. And you are on the right track with what I mean. A new body, and a new interior would be needed. Everything under the sheet metal can be the same for all anyone cares, but why go to the extra cost of making a new 'skin' for a car that isn't making enough money as it is? Maybe there are a lot of firebird diehards out there that would never buy a Camaro that I don't know about. But the majority seem to be 'f-body enthusiasts' and are happy enough with the Camaro.
