People underestimate GM. The CTS-V is the fastest production sedan to ever run the ring. It is an awesome automobile. Check out these lap times from Gingerman. They include Pro Touring vehicles and some of them are monsters. 750 RWHP normally aspirated. ZR1 Corvette brakes. You get the idea. Then look at the CTS-V T2 car lap times.
Our Camaro is faster than the CTS-V race car in our most recent testing and that understates the advantage. I screwed up and used the wrong compound for the rear brake pads and created a front to rear bias issue. With the correct rear pad we are another half second faster. This is on street tires while the CTS-V race car is on full slicks.
Your Camaro is very bit the equal of a CTS-V with the addition of CTS-V front calipers and rotors along with a modest blower. Change the wheels and tires, upgrade the suspension and your Camaro will roast the Benz and CTS-V along with a Z06. The ZR1 is in a class by itself.
