The M&P is on my short list. S&W has copied the Glock trigger safety on at least two other models, as has Springfield/H&K on the xD/2000. It's starting to become more common on polymer duty style pistols. The M&P would be a good choice as it'll include a couple different backstraps, so you can customize the grip to fit your hand a bit better.
The H&K is a good gun, although I don't know about lessened recoil, unless he is referring to the weight of the gun keeping it down. While I won't knock an H&K, I won't buy one either. I'd take the M&P over it.

Thankx for your continued help. The shop ordered an H&K P30 too, think the hubby is going to get the S&W M&P (trading my Beretta 92S). I'll keep you posted. Lori
