In order to not get a RROD, simply place your xbox in a space with open air. If you keep it in a confined space, it's cooling system can't work as intended. That's why it overheats.
Also, if you mod your xbox, TAKE CARE OF IT AND GIVE IT ROOM TO BREATHE.
That's like getting some Louis Vitton/Prada/whatever designer interior for your convertible and leaving the top down on a cloudy day with storm warnings...
