I've built a few of my PC's using Newegg. I tend to use the hardware that Falcon-NW uses because it's generally been tested out by them pretty well, then order the parts and build it myself.
I've probably built about 6 PC's of my own over the years (and numerous ones for various jobs I've had). I have, when times have been good financially, bought 3 Falcon Northwest computers though as well. My wiring harnesses look no where near as clean as Falcon's...but the computers tend to run just as well, though over the years it's seemed like the PC's I've built have run into more hardware weirdness than the one's that were built by Falcon.
Still, building your own PC is always the best way to get the most bang out of the buck. I wouldn't take back my purchases of the Falcon's though...they have been sweet machines.
