I haven't done ICC, but I have done many raids over the years. Is there some strategy? A little. Some fights do require you to run to certain places so knowing the fight is important...but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say WoW requires strategy.
Over the years, I've pretty much played almost every MMO that's come out. Add to that I've played pretty much most games that have come out as well. WoW can be fun to play, but I would say teamwork on raids is important, not strategy. Also, more important is GEAR. With gear, you can ignore a lot of the 'strategy' and just power through fights.
Really, what WoW is about, is grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding. Though I still play, since I got my Camaro I play far less because it's fun to go outside. I have 6 80's, and will have my 7th in a week or so. With Cataclysm coming out, I see no point in wasting my time grinding when all the gear will be obsolete after the expansion. So, I plan to have a character of each type at 80 by then. Last two characters I have to really level are a shaman and a druid, both in the low 20s.
