The Elantra has some of the same styling cues as the new Sonata.

I drive 1-2 rental cars per week on business trips to DC and Baltimore. I've driven about every rental car National offers and recently had the opportunity to drive the 2011 Sonata. I was really impressed. So much so, I couldn't stop talking about it when I got home. I averaged 41MPG driving the beltway in DC with that DI 4-banger. In the heart of the city I was getting 21MPG in stop and go with the AC blasting. Very comfortable, modern, quiet, responsive and a sticker price of ~$20k. If I had to purchase an inexpensive fuel efficient daily driver for work - this would be it.

My next fleet vehicle is the new Audi A3 TDI - I'm looking forward to it as an alternative to hybrid offerings with similar mileage.
