I would suggest that the general car buying public - including those that would be at least interested in the Mustang or Camaro - doesn't know the difference between an IRS and an SRA (unless the salesman tells them) and probably wouldn't notice the ride difference in the vast majority of environments.
However, the more hardcore types among us do indeed know, and will tend to gravitate towards what suits our needs. This means drag racers typically head towards the live axle cars (not sure what happened to nhra stocker
), and the road race types will head towards the IRS choices.
Autocross.....make it light I guess! LOL.
