Most people in NA are not looking at GM as it stands in the global village when comparing it to Toyota or Honda. GM needs to be making ALL it's vehicles worldwide platforms and sell the same thing they sell us to everyone else. A Honda Civic in Chicago is a Honda Civic in Turkey, Australia, Brazil, South Africa, France, etc... Not so for GM.

One division creates a platform and then others spend millions making it look unique. Of all the brands that GM has worlwide, they should reduce it down to 5. Merge, dump or sell.

With respect to unions, each plant has it's own agreements and processes. This too must become standardized and not here in NA but worldwide. Unions must agree that all plants can become flex plants so that GM can better respond to worldwide demand. I hope that Oshawa gets to produce the Camaro for the world which will also mean developing right hand drive vehicles for British inspired markets. Incidently, that was one of GM's blunders in the 80's with Japan - they tried to sell left hand drive cars to a right hand drive market - absurd imo.
