Another would be to remove GM from the 'Government Motor' stigma. This may be a bit of a surprise to you, but some people believe that government ownership = government operation. Besides, right now even though you are technically a partial owner of GM, you personally are not affected by the ownership. You won't get any dividends on the stock thats collectively owned, you don't get any shareholder votes, none of that stuff typically associated with owning stock in a company. |
