For the Camaro, these topics have been very well discussed in the suspension and brake section. Pedders also has a rather definitive explanation of suspension upgrades and why on their Pedders Site.
In perspective, the Mustang needs a lot more aggressive upgrading in their suspension and chassis to help with additional hp and help control geometry changes. This is also very well documented on most of the Mustang forums. I can also tell you that we also have personally documented it with our R&D on the Mustang.
I totally agree with DOC on his assessment. I have been discussing for years, the importance of a balanced mod approach. With hp increases, you must upgrade your suspension to improve efficiency and control. There are outfitters of Camaros that are doing major upgrades, and in fact have shown reductions in handling capability because of large hp increases, and a minimal suspension upgrade and insufficient install and setup approach. Chatted with a Camaro guy yesterday looking for help. Did major engine upgrades, but has too much hp and is very challenged in controlling it. His ETs and 60 second times actually went down!
I think there are still lots of room for braking on the Camaro. Lots of things are being tried. We will be doing another testing here shortly with actually both platforms. Should be fun

i was asking about the drivetrain safety issues since that was brought up, not the suspension components.
