I bought a 68 Coupe in 1990 when I was 19. I saw it sitting on a used car lot and I knew it had to come home with me! I looked at the car and it had everything I wanted, 327, deluxe houndstooth interior, floor console w/guages...but it was a Turbo 350 Auto. I decided that I could live with that. I put down $200 and called my Dad. Dad called Mom who sent him to talk me out of it. He showed up, took one look at the car and wrote a check for $2700 so we could take the car home. I knew I could get a loan for the $$, I had been working at the same job for 3 yrs, but Mom was ticked at Dad for forking out the cash...until she sat in the car! She has been hooked ever since! I still have the car, although now it is in pieces in the garage waiting for my wonderful husband to put it back together!! But since it is not done, I will be thrilled to drive a new 2010 instead!
