Yes, I would. There were multiple dealers on this site selling Camaros for no mark up from the beginning.
Let's be realistic, he's not buying the GT500 as an investment here. If he were, that would be another reason to point out stupidity. New cars are not good investments. If you want to buy a GT500 for an investment, go buy a 67-68 while the market is low and sit on it until the market comes back up.
Besides, it might be worth more because it cost more in the beginning. That's not the right way to look at it though. You want to look at how much value is lost over time. In a year, how much will the GT500 be worth vs. what he paid? Same with the Camaro, which one loses more value?
