man that z/28 thread just blew up. 18 pages or so. wow.
here's the million dollar question, How many of those people will actually buy a z/28?
Here's my situation. My MSRP was 37,100. I got my car for 35,750, straight up, no trades or anything. With tax, title and license i was 39,400ish i think. I have around 2,000 in mods done to it, so I am into my car for a realistic 41,500. If i were trade it today, I would get 30k if I am lucky..... So that means a 11,500 hit in 4 months of ownership.
When the z comes out in a year, now this is purely a guess on my part, but I would assume i would get around 25k to 27k for my car depending on miles. Even if the z is around 45k, which seems kinda low, i am going to be out around another 40k to get it. (The 14 to 16k i lost on my 2010, plus the extra 20k to get the 2012 z, plus some more tax, ltitle and license, plus a couple mods like clear bra, tint and some kind of exhaust.)
That just seems like a lot of damn money to me. I understand that there are a lot of people that just don't care how much they lose on something, but another 40k on top of what i spent already, meant i could have gotten a brand new z06. Or a cts-v and a 2002 SS together. etc etc etc.
