None that I know of, think this was an original creation; not a remake and not based on any true events to the best of my knowledge. Didn't realize Salt was a real Russian spy, may actually have to see that one now. I got annoyed at how early and often they started showing previews for it...

I think what may have helped make it really awesome for me was that I wasn't sure what to expect from it.
