Dogs are naturally attracted to feline poo... Don't know why, don't care why. Mostly females do it, a primal instinct done to hide the scent of younger more vulnerable pack
mates. This is VERY bad for your dogs digestive tract if you use a "clumpable litter"..you see what it does to urine just imagine what it would do in a canine stomach. The only way to prevent this is to put our cat box higher or in an area "gated off" from your dog. I have also seen a littler box that is igloo shaped, has a door and the entrance is curved to the side. The cat must turn and walk up a set of steps to get into the litter. The dog has no way of getting in far enough to get to the "kitty morsels". Unless of course you have a small breed canine. In that case, put te cat box in a mud room or pantry/laundry room with a baby gate up. The cat can easily scale the gate...the pup..unless you have a Houdini on your hands (which I have actually seen on occasion), no chance of getting in there.
