Ya, I know - an autograph session. In the middle of the day. At a WAL MART.

He was looking around like he was on Mars or something. "What the h$ll am I doing here?"

But - he seemed to be happy that I was pretty much the only NHRA fan that showed up. I asked him what he thought about Cruz Pedregon (his top rival at the time).

He just smiled that crazy smile, and autographed my shirt without another word.

The man is nuts. That's why I'm a big fan.

He's a seriously cool dude. And his daughter is a racer, too. You might have heard of her. I dunno.

OK. First Rocky Horror and now this.

John Force is absolutely one of my favorite motorsports heroes of all time.

Don't even get me started. Ashley, Brittany, and Courtney...

Driving Force on A&E, do you watch that? It's Johnny exposed. So crazy, so driven, yet a huge heart and a challenging personal life.

It simply boggles the mind, that this 14-time Champion, goes home alone, to an empty house, yearning to be with his still-wife (separated), and daughters.

All the money, all the trophys, and he is a broken soul, through no fault of his own.

When this happened:

On Sunday September 23, John Force was injured when his funny car crashed during a race in Texas. Force, a 14-time NHRA champion, was airlifted to a hospital in Dallas. Force was conscious and alert after the accident, and is expected to make a full recovery.
I just had to back off a little, especially after teammate Eric Medelin's passing last year. I can't take any more passing-on right now.

I'll try again this coming year. Maybe Gatornationals in Gainesville.

I'm still reeling from losing Kenny Irwin, Jr., then Adam Petty, and then Dale.

Thank God NASCAR took action and has succeeded with improving safety in so many ways.

I need NHRA to do more on safety, I know John has done quite a bit recently.

His daughters are in these things now, and he couldn't stand to lose any of them.

I'll never forget when Ashley beat bad-ass Daddy for the first time. Wow.

I never typed so much in my life.

See ya, 2K.

ps - How about how John grew up in that tiny 2 room trailer. Unreal.

xxxxxxx
