He has changed the perception from bad to good, he had done a better job than the older CEOs of the company.

You are exactly correct. NOW, if things don't start getting better under his leadership, then they might have a reason to have an issue with him.
You have to go through a few growing pains to go from low quality, to what is now coming from GM. I don't know how long that process should have been, but he needs to start the up swing.
It's kinda like football reoganizations. Once a head coach and GM are replaced due to lack of performance over a period of time, it NORMALLY takes a year or two to get the team back winning, there are a few exceptions to this, but we are also talking about a sport and not MASS PRODUCTION of quality vehicles.
