With today's technology they should be able to sense the microsecond the car starts rolling and begin timing and distance measurement from that point on and measure the exact time and instant the car reaches 1/4 mile down to the a hundredth of an inch or so. We could get rid of all these trees and reaction times and finally be able to compare cars without the driver skill in jumping the light ruining the comparison.
