Wow. A friend helps you? Wait a minute now.
My friend told me on July 4- technically four days after our lease was due to be signed- that he was moving 3300 miles away
Good thing I didn't sign that lease, eh? I was waiting for the landlady to get home after the long weekend
He said 'well it hasn't been definite until the last few days'...right...so back in June. Like... the first week in June when he took a trip to the west coast with his reportedly soon-to-be-broken-up-with girl who was moving to Oregon. I thought he was just being a dope, he never said anyhting about leaving, just that she was moving. She, like as in 'her', not them or him, she. "She" doesn't even sound like "us". Rhymes with "me" though...maybe he just thought he said "me" when he said she. Yeah, that's the ticket
He figured I "might know somebody" to jump on the lease last second. Yeah, might, gee thanks
He doesn't understand the situation this put our landlord in- three days late on the lease was OK, she was not home and was getting it on Monday the 5th, but not telling her that the lease was not getting signed is different
He didn't understand the amount of sweet talking I had to do on the phone with the landlord
He doesn't understand the thousands this will cost me because- hey, now I have to move too, I can't afford this whole place by myself
He doesn't get that this made me technically homeless on Aug 1
He never even said 'sorry about this' or even 'oops'
I told my father. His comment was "Did you punch him yet?". I told him I didn't really feel like it would help
My friend also...oh wait, he's not actually my friend. Carry on
