33k base for the V6 eh? Yeah I knew it was going to cost over 30k for the V6...

I'd get the turbo 4 personally....

I can see why they are calling the Hyundai Genesis a pony car. RWD 2+2 V6 engine.... It's sporty. But to call it a "pony car" .... Don't know if I would go that far. Maybe if it were to get a V8 option I'd say why not. But the label "Pony car" was started with the creation of the "Ford Mustang" .... hence "Pony" which I don't need to explain to a bunch of Camaro enthusiasts... and cars that competed with the Mustang such as the Chevy Camaro have also been labeled with that title... Although personally whenever I think "pony car" I associate with a negative connotation because I think of the Mustang...

But back on topic. I don't believe that back when the Nissan 240SX was around they weren't calling it a pony car even though it was a 2dr 2+2 seater vehicle... I'd actually associate the Hyundai Genesis in the same class as the 240 personally.

But look at all the 2dr V6 (and some V8's for that matter) RWD 2+2 seater coupes that are out right now for under 33k and you get the following

1.) V6 Mustang & GT
2.) V6 Challenger & R/T
3.) V6 Camaro & SS
4.) Hyundai Genesis Coupe V6

So for the price I'll take a Camaro SS out of all of the following...

Anyways I'm happy to see the arrival of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe however, and with news of Toyota coming back in the game with joint venture with Subie coming out with a RWD/AWD sports coupe, and Nissan reportedly rumored to come out with a 240SX replacement, maybe in a few years it'll be good times once again for affordable RWD 2dr coupes that have been absent for so long in our market...
