You're talking about engines that are meant to go 300,000+ miles pulling a 15000+lb load. The Cummins is special because they've shown for years they can handle it. Chevy had some issues with their first year of the latest generation of diesel, but they fixed them and it's a solid engine now with a great transmission. Ford just keeps switching engines every few years and it never feels like they get their diesels fully sorted.
