Just check your rear view mirror often. Parts have been known to fall off Tundras. (Not small parts either). And hopefully you didn't get the 5.7L (those have been known to break cam shafts).

Usually, the spare tire carrier fails due to extensive RUST, thus dropping the heavy spare wheel and tire and associated carrier parts, right in the path of the vehicle following said turdra. Is that a hazardous defect, toyota, or just a safety device to warn tailgaters?
