I should have been more clear. I am not a fan of CAFE.. But the pressure regulations like this apply on the manufacturers to produce more efficient cars does work... There are gaping holes in CAFE, wihtout question. But, as much as I hate to admit it... it does "encourage" more efficient, less costly options for the car consumer...
And lets not forget.. the lessions we learn in making more efficient engines actually enables more powerful ones as well.
Now, having said all that, I am perfectly happy with my 500+ RWHP 22 MPG Camaro...
