Personally, despite the Aero being a bit faster, I'd take the Veyron, it has a more luxurious interior, and I think it looks better. To me, based upon the performance of each car, the Veyron is much more stable and way better built, while the Aero just seems to be a about more raw power and having a higher top-speed while lacking everything else.

The Ultimate Aero with that much power, has no traction control, I can't imagine driving that thing in the rain;...talk about dangerous. The Bugatti on the other hand has traction control and stability control(which can be turned off) and performs in the rain as if it's driving on a dry desert plain. We haven't seen the Aero in those conditions as of yet, so we can't say much. But from what I've seen, the Bugatti is absolutely amazing in all conditions. It's nearly impossible to get this car to lose control or grip in even the toughest of settings. The Bugatti has a faster 0-60 time also: 2.5 Bugatti-2.7 Aero.

The Bugatti also has a shorter stopping distance because of it's massive brakes and retractable spoiler, it does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds yet the car can be stopped from 100mph in a shorter amount of time "2.3 seconds". And even the 248mph deceleration is accomplished in a matter of less than 10 seconds. That's mind blowing. The aero too has a retractable spoiler, which can be adjusted to the drivers brake speed but in the Veyron, everything is fully automatic.

And actually, for the record, the Bugatti may currently have a hp rating of
"1001 horsepower" but in August the Bugati Veryon "SS" is set to debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance autoshow. The new Bugatti sheds 220lbs and boast a new hp rating of "1200 horsepower" and achieves a top speed of 264mph while also achieving a faster 0-60 time of 2.2 seconds.

Currently, the Ultimate Aero holds the world record with an official top speed of 257mph on a public highway road, if given more space it could probably achieve a higher top speed, but once the Bugatti SS debuts it should then hold the new record until the makers of the Aero can find a mass of land long enough to allow the Aero to achieve a higher speed than 257mph because from the looks of it, it's VERY capable.

Here is another interesting fact I stumbled across while watching the making of the Bugatti Veyron,....the W16 engine the Bugatti uses may have a 1,001 horsepower rating from the factory, but during the making, it was revealed that the engine is actually a 3,000 horsepower engine, but the power was purposely reduced to 1,001 because Bugatti technicians haven't found a way to support that much power in a streetable environment, while also mentioning new tires would have to developed and tested before that much power would ever reach a safe production model. And when tires were to ever be developed for that much power, expect the price of the Bugatti's tires to also go up,.....right now, to replace a Bugatti Veyron tire is $17,000k a tire. That's ridiculous. It also came out that during the testing of the W16 engine, the heat the engine output was so high it nearly melted the room it was encased in; testers thought the building had caught fire! So for it's power it outputs an extreme amount of heat, and you can be sure there more where that came from.

I forgot to mention that the makes of SSC Ultimate Aero took the car overseas to Dubia to sell it to the Sheik, according to SSC the Sheik told the person who maintains his car collection to bring out the Veyron....because he wanted to see which was faster- right now. So they brought out the Veyron, the Sheik in the Bugatti and the SSC guy in the Aero, there was a mile or 2 long stretch of road, and on the count of 3 the Sheik let the Bugatti loose, it pulled on the Aero at launch by 10 feet but afterwards SSC claims it bolted ahead of the Bugatti;they claim with every shift, they were 4-8 car lengths ahead of the Bugatti. That would mean, yes.....the Bugatti was no match for the Aero and it's lighter weight to power. (This video interview can be seen on youtube, just search Ultimate Aero Vs Bugatti Veyron, it'll turn up 1st page).

Right now, the SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastest production car in the world, and sports a much much lower price tag, even for the rich, around 625k to start; a Bugatti....1.2 million base, 1.7 million fully loaded will all it's extra amenities. If I had the money, I'd buy the Bugatti Veyron even though it may not be the fastest in the world, it's just shown to be more of a high quality car. I wouldn't mind owning the Ultimate Aero either for the 625+k price tag, but I'd get tired of the interior as opposed to the Bugatti's, it's speed would keep me attracted though.

As far as appearance, it's all personal preference, it totally depends upon the driver. I think the battle for "fastest car in the world" will definitely go on between Bugatti Automotive and SSC. Back and forth, back and forth. With this being the case, if you purchased either car you might as well say,.....you own one the fastest "cars" in the world because there will never be just one, because that title will always be temporary, once new ingenuity and brilliant minds come together, there will be yet another....."fastest car in the world".
