I've spent countless hours cruising with my LS7 getting over 30 mpg. I still don't understand why the smaller, lighter, and more powerful "low tech" LS engines get bashed. Good engineering satisfies design requirements, not "style preferences" (i.e. how impressively complex you can make the system).
