Capacitors are much better suited to hybrids than electric cars. Even super capacitors have low energy density, but the advantage is that they release that energy very quickly. They can also build up a charge from using the brakes more efficiently than a battery. So if all you are using them for is a burst off the line, they are almost ideal. To power a car full time? Not so much
