It's Apple's operating system for the iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad. It was previously called "iPhone OS_", but since it's for more than just the phone they renames it "iOS_". It will allow multitasking, the addition of desktop folders, wallpaper, digital zoom to the camera, and alot of other new features (Multitasking, wallpaper and bluetooth keyboard connectivity will not work on the 3G, only 3GS). It's always free for the phone, but this time it's free for the iPod touch too.
