Nice info. Based on info from other forums, going from 87 to 93 octane *should* net about 10 RWHP. That would put the GT around 370-375 RWHP, which seems to be about average for a new 5.0.
For drag racing, pay a lot more attention to the HP curve than the torque curve. You spend virtually no time at all under 4000 rpm (4500 for the 5.0), and thus the power down there is simply irrelevant. And so that I don't start a HP vs Torque war, I will remind all that HP = torque * rpm ( divided by 5252, if you wish to get technical).
That said, the LS3 does have a nicer HP curve, given that the 5.0 has its nuts cut off (so to speak) by a rev limiter that begins to kill it only 250 rpm above peak power.
